Troop 884 Rules for meetings and campouts:
1. Absolutely no fighting, wrestling or use of vulgarity/hate-names will be tolerated at any Scout event. Parents will be notified to pick-up their Scout at the first offense. Offenders may be restricted from future participation based on committee review and recommendation.
2. Hazing and initiation rituals are forbidden by the National BSA Council and will not be tolerated. Offenders will be restricted from future participation based on committee review and recommendation.
3. All Troop property and personal property of fellow scouts will be treated with respect. Violators will be held financially responsible for any damage to property resulting from acts of disrespect.
4. Personal property left unattended after events or in public areas after quiet time will be held for return after collection of a $1 storage fee. This money will be used toward the Incentives Fund.
5. Personal Music Players will be allowed for use in the vehicles (w/driver's consent) and/or bunks as long as they have ear-buds/ear-phones and do not distract the Scout’s attention from necessary tasks. They will be confiscated for return after the event if they are seen during program times or heard at any time.
6. Other electronics are not allowed on campouts (ie: cell-phones, boom-boxes, radios, dvd-players, televisions, game-systems, etc…). They will be confiscated for return after the outing if they are seen or heard at any time (enforcement of this rule is lifted for the Cabin Campout only).
7. Pocket knives can be carried only with a current Totin’ Chip card. Rule violations will be tracked by the loss of a corner on the card. Once the card has lost all its corners, the knife will be confiscated for return after a new Totin’ Chip has been earned.
8. Fireworks, personal firearms and controlled substances are never permitted at any Scout Event. Parents will be notified to pick-up their Scout at the first offense. Offenders may be restricted from future participation based on committee review and recommendation.
9. Safety regulations will be followed at all times, including but not limited to, life jackets on open water, helmets on cycles, seat-belts in vehicles, buddy-system, two-deep leadership, etc… Scouts will not participate in the event until compliant.
10. The Scout Oath and Law will be the guide for behavior at all Scout functions.
